Submachine is a hand-drawn point and click adventure game. You will find yourself in a vast network of desolate locations containing puzzles, secrets, notes and inventory items to collect to help you along the way.

The underground world of submerged machines offers you vast variety of locations and structures to discover and repair. While everything is shattered, you will try to put things back together to understand and escape.

You are alone here. You will follow the footsteps of a banished lighthouse keeper discovering his descent into ruins of Submachine. The story is divided into chapters that will unlock for you as you progress through the game. The story is conveyed by series of notes that you'll collect and read.

There are tons of puzzles, some of which you'll solve by bringing the machinery back online, tinkering with it, turning off and on again. For others you'll need to find missing parts, levers that were broken off or stolen, depleted power sources, gears, cogs, lamps, coils and so on. As you move through the structure, you will be putting back together things that were shattered.

Entire game is hand-drawn. There's nothing auto-generated nor procedural. Each location was thoughtfully designed. Stylized drawings give the game it's eerie atmosphere.

Ambient music for this game was created by ThumpMonks, with chapter 1 ambient by Marcus Gutierrez. The music perfectly emphasizes the atmosphere of lonely exploration.

Quick question: for someone who bought the HD collection years ago, is this new in any way or is it the exact same thing? Thanks! :)

you want me to spoil it for you? :D

yes, there's plenty of new stuff.

Very nice! 😉👍🏻

i used to play this game online using adobe flash on the unblocked games sites. I remember this game and i loved it so much. When I can, i will purchase. This game is so nostalgic for me. Bro that was like 3rd grade bro!!! <3

Thanks bro!

Your nostalgia is worth more than money to me. :D

I'd love to purchase this! But I think there is something wrong with the permissions or the listing or something, because every time I and my friends try to purchase this we get that 'there was an issue processing your payment.' We're not finding other games with this problem.

I changed something in payments settings, pls try again.

It worked! I am very excited. Thank you for responding, I am having a blast replaying these games again.

Omg I remember these, even tho I loved them I never finished even a single one lol, I didn't buy this so idk if it's a remake or the original games, but it's nice to see people still remember it

Fantastic to see all these games again! Games seem to run a bit smoother than they did in flash.

(+1)

I'm enjoying the experience so far...but I've been getting the following bug: It happens every time I try to examine some papers in Submachine 6, especially the papers that detail the order of how the red balls go in the pillar in world 3.

Great game! Worth every penny spent.

If you think the price is too high, know that it ensures hours of play and above all it was developed by just one person!

I think I spotted a bug: if you start the game having previously muted it, when you turn the audio back on, the title screen audio will not be played.

I played the entire series. except two.

universe and legacy. These are really long games. and a good memory is required

oh wow i remember this from ebaums world like 15+ years ago. i'm assuming it's a remake/rework?

Can we get the official OST for download? Some tracks seem to be extended mixes.

you can get the OST here: submachine OST

How many rooms are in this game, can you give us a number? It must be almost a thousand rooms, maybe even more...

over 1900

Dude this is some of the most exciting news i've seen. submachine and daymare town inspired me so much as a kid.

(+3)

daymaretown remaster is next.

(+1)

alright well now you're just trying to make me cry. Was not expecting a reply directly from you. This might be ridiculous but honestly I think I was 12 when I found daymare town and the art style has stuck with me. The sporadic etching style got me into Edward gorey and had an influence on almost all of the art I've made in my life. Seriously, thank you for your work.

Edward Gorey, yes... Let's not forget Tove Jansson. :D

This was so fantastic to play from start to finish like I did a couple of years ago(and yet it also feeling so different).

Thank you so much for not only creating this game, but all the Submachine games since the first. It's been an amazing ride and I can't wait for the next installment!

Just popping in to say I love your work and I would love a Mac release of this game!

(-2)

Will this be available for iOS?

Will this be releasing on Steam?

(+2)

As a fellow fan, I can say it has been released on Steam!

(+1)(-1)

Do we get Steam key after it is out on Steam?

(+1)(-1)

No. You get standalone itchio version here.

(+2)(-2)

Maybe a discount for people owning collection already? I believe it is possible on itch.

Mr. Skutnik, thank you for your work on this great series and for bringing back such an important part of my childhood!!! Loved finding the games through your site, and playing them again through the Collection!

(+1)

Is there any chance that this will work on Linux? If not, is there a possibility of a Linux port?

Reverting 'item find' and 'move' sounds to the original ones is a nice option, but it's not sufficient. I enjoyed the previous 'paper rustle' or 'preview/door enter/door back' sounds, as they contributed to the raw atmosphere of this brilliant game.

(+1)

My childhood is back? No fucking way!

Thank you for providing the option to revert the 'item find' and 'move' sounds to the original ones. However, I would appreciate it if you could also add an option to disable the new sounds entirely.

(+1)

What's the difference between this and Submachine Complete Collection?

(+7)

new engine, new content, new puzzles, better graphics, no stutter, new music, new sounds... want me to go on? :D

NO SPOILERS

(+1)

ahhh cant believe my eyes (but it's right here^^

My childhood is back. Thank you for the hard work, sir. I'm sure it was well worth the wait. 🙏
